"The First Look"

The Ceremony

Our wedding ceremony was held in the LDS Los Angeles Temple. Our close friends and family who are members of the LDS church and able to enter the temple were at the ceremony, and other family and friends waited outside for us to walk out the doors as an officially married couple.

The Ring Ceremony

We had a lot of family and friends who weren't able to enter the temple and be a part of our sealing ceremony, so we had a ring ceremony in my parents' backyard. My dad walked me down the aisle, and our song was an instrumental version of "Your Gaurdian Angel" by String Quartet. The ceremony was performed by one of my old bishops, and he did a beautiful job.

Before our reception, Jake and I opened one of our most special wedding gifts. All of the women on my side of the family: grandmas, aunts, cousins, and my mom and sister had gotten together over the past few months and made a quilt for Jake and I. Everyone contributed cloth and work sewing it, and it turned out beautifully. It's something that Jake and I will love forever, and a way for us to always have a piece of our wedding with us.

The Reception

Our wedding was what I called "shabby chic." It was a mixture of rustic items with lace, pearls, and (of course) books and lots of beautiful flowers.

I'm so proud of this chandelier! I made it myself out of a hula hoop, wooden embroidery hoops, and white christmas lights.

We left our reception being showered with sprinkles, and headed off to our Happily Ever After!
