Fall is Here!

This week was another adventure for Jake and I. Last Sunday night we finally sat down and planned out a budget for ourselves to "start" this first week of October, and that was...relieving, but stressful and depressing at the same time. I feel like "real" married life is going to be starting up officially now.

On Monday after Jake got home from work, I helped to give him a haircut, which was...interesting. I learned how to use one of those hair buzzer things, and using it for too long made my hand start itching from the vibrating haha. But Jake looks very handsome with his less-fuzzy head!!

On Tuesday, we had a guest speaker at our school-wide devotional. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, one of the leaders of our church, came to BYU-Idaho! The second he walked into the center, everyone got completely silent and stood up for him. It was like an instant rush of the Spirit witnessing that he's really an apostle of God. He spoke about the importance of being truly happy, and how to start living that way we "need to do what happy people do." It seems like a "well duh" concept, but his insights into the idea were really great and just what I needed to hear. I'm so grateful to go to the school that I do, to have these kind of opportunities to hear from such amazing people!

On Friday, I had some girlfriends over for a "Girls' Night". We played board games, ate pizza, and talked and laughed. It was really fun to just hang out with a group of girls again and just have a good time.

Saturday and today, we've had a lot of rain here in Rexburg. I'm so happy that Fall has "officially" hit us, because now it's finally cold enough to really enjoy cuddling up together while Jake and I watch TV and just enjoy each others' company. I'm really trying to enjoy the little things in life lately, and I'm finding it's much easier to do with this "gloomy" weather, as weird as it sounds!

I can't wait for another week, and for the start of October! Happy Fall everyone!
